calmat® Installation
Safety instructions
To avoid causing damage, please follow these safety instructions:
Connect calmat® only to a correct and firmly installed earthed safety socket (87–260 V~, 50/60 Hz). |
Do not disconnect from power by pulling the wire. Always disconnect pulling the plug. |
Do not open the electronic unit. |
The exterior temperature where the unit is installed should be between -10° C until max. +55°C (14°F - 131°F). |
The power plug should be kept away from water drops and water spray. |
Please clean the unit with a damp cloth only (no detergents). |
Protect calmat® from direct humidity, water and direct solar radiation. |

Installation
1 |
Place calmat on the pipe. Install calmat® on the main water pipe and fix the electronic unit with the cable ties. |
2 |
Now place the red impulse cable in the left socket (4). Feed the cable to the back of the pipe and fasten with a cable tie. Wind the cable tightly and firmly around the pipe to create a coil. Plug the second impulse tie through the black loop at the end of the cable and fasten it. |
3 |
Repeat the installation with the second impulse cable again (see 2.). |
4 |
First connect the adaptor (5) with the electronic unit with the socket on the left site of the device. Plug the mains plug into the power socket (permissible voltage: 87 - 260 V, 50/60 Hz). The green control light (3) will light up. The display will show: calmat |
5 |
Set up your program: Please choose your language with the upper button (>). Then press the button (P) to select the program according to your pipe material and pipe diameter (a,b,c, or d). You can change the programme selection at any time later. |

Installation instructions
The electronic water treatment system calmat prevents scale and rust deposits in pipes and devices. The unit is installed on the main water supply (e.g. close to the water meter) according to the following instructions:
Temperature peaks on heating element surfaces (e.g. heating coil, heat exchanger surface, etc.) should not exceed 95°C (203°F). |
The electronic control unit can be attached directly on to the pipe. This can be done either horizontally and vertically. It may also be placed on the wall. |
Wind the impulse cable tightly and firmly without gaps around the pipe. |
The impulse cable can also be wound on thicker connecting pieces (e. g. pipe collars, pipe reducers, compression couplings etc.). |
Before the installation, casing or insulating material on the pipe must be removed. Thin coats of paint can be left. |
